Why We Use ICRO Coatings

We don't settle for off-the-shelf paint from the hardware store. Maverick exclusively uses ICRO coatings — a high-end, Italian-made finish trusted by professional cabinet makers across Europe and North America.

ICRO delivers a harder, smoother, more durable finish than standard cabinet paint. It resists chipping, yellowing, and wear — meaning your refinished cabinets won't just look new today. They'll still look new years from now.

Our Finish Process

Multi-Prime & Top Coat System

A great finish isn't about one thick coat — it's about building layers that bond, seal, and protect. Our process uses multiple primer coats followed by precision top coats, with an isolator hardener between layers for maximum adhesion and durability.

This multi-coat system is what separates a professional refinish from a DIY paint job. Every layer serves a purpose: sealing the substrate, building depth, and creating a smooth, hard-wearing surface that holds up to daily kitchen use.

FAQ

Cabinet Refinishing Questions

ICRO is a premium, Italian-manufactured coating system used by professional cabinet makers worldwide. It produces a harder, smoother, and more durable finish than standard cabinet paints. It resists chipping, yellowing, and everyday wear — giving your refinished cabinets a factory-quality look that lasts for years.
Our refinishing process uses multiple coats of primer with an isolator hardener between layers, followed by precision top coats of ICRO finish. The isolator hardener ensures each layer bonds properly and creates a barrier that prevents bleed-through, staining, and delamination. This layered approach produces a finish that's smooth, hard-wearing, and built to last — far superior to a single-coat paint job.
The total process typically takes 2–5 days depending on the number of cabinets and desired finish. Most projects require only about 2 days on-site in your home. Doors and drawers are finished off-site in our shop to minimize disruption.
Refinishing typically costs 50–70% less than full cabinet replacement while delivering a like-new appearance. If your cabinet boxes are structurally sound, refinishing is often the smarter investment — dramatic transformation without the cost, waste, and multi-week timeline of a full tear-out.
Absolutely. Color changes are one of the most popular reasons homeowners choose refinishing. Whether you want to go from dark stain to bright white, or from dated oak to a modern gray — our multi-coat process ensures a clean, complete color transformation with no bleed-through.
In most cases, yes. While the doors are off being finished, you'll still have access to your cabinet boxes and countertops. We work efficiently and keep the workspace clean to minimize inconvenience.
